For over twenty years I have been providing counseling to families where one or more members are experiencing anxiety, depression, family conflict, school avoidance and/or the adolescent’s initial expression is resistance to treatment. My adolescent clientele and their family members range from first time engagers of therapeutic support to those that have had multiple therapists. I have found that most adolescents overtly or secretly welcome support in navigating the delicate dance of dependence and individuation, once the therapist is able to develop an effective rapport. , This is not your typical on the couch therapy. Recent data supports the effectiveness of in-home, wraparound therapy with teens and families. I provide in-home and community based individual and family therapy, parent coaching and when appropriate, collaboration with schools, friends, family members & other providers. Whatever it takes to get us there. , " It is not easy being a teenage nor raising one, especially in todays social media world. We are in an epidemic where anxiety and depression are prevalent.
