Let’s do real talk. Life can be hard! Understanding what children are experiencing can be difficult. Best of intentions by parents are often misunderstood. When you are a child, talking to your parents is seemingly impossible sometimes. Kids have big emotions they cannot understand or describe, and they think no one understands. Academic stressors, development, parent and peer relationships and significant or traumatic life events can cause a child or teenager to react in various ways. Some kids need a safe space to learn how to identify, express and cope with their feelings. Processing feelings helps to reduce stress and pressures. , Most trauma happens in childhood or adolescence. Whether you are a child or an adult who has gone through a traumatic experience and are dealing with overwhelming depression or unmanageable anxiety, healing is possible. Gently navigating through the forest of negative thoughts, emotions, and scars from the past is part of the work we do together. , Learning new ways of handling challenges, making peace with the past, and finding joy in life again is the key to restoration.
