James brings an eclectic mix and a systemic relational perspective in a style of therapy that he has created called systemic relational recovery therapy. He earned his Master;s Degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Nova Southeastern University and is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Additionally, James is a Certified Addiction Professional and a Transgender Care Therapist. James is a hypnotherapist and has studied under Dr. Douglas Flemons. James has studied under many pioneers of family therapy including but not limited to Dr. Salvador Minuchin, co-founder of structural family therapy. , " James style of therapy is an integration of major theoretical approaches including but not limited to Structural, Cognitive Behavioral, Narrative, Solution Focused, Person Centered, and MRI therapy. James experience includes working with individuals, families, and couples struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring disorders. ", Focuses on child and adolescent therapy and family counseling. Facilitating groups in family treatment programs. James has developed a specialization in working with the transgender community. James has worked in different modalities including, Co-occurring Disorders Programs, Domestic Violence Programs, Partial Hospitalization Programs, and in home therapy.
