I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with a Ph.D. in Linguistics. I have certifications in Trauma treatment and in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Mindful Self-Compassion, and Mindfulness for treating Children and Teens. I have experience in the treatment of trauma, PTSD, anxiety, panic attacks, depression, domestic violence, grief, abuse, ADHD, anger issues, self-esteem, and stress management. I offer respectful culturally-sensitive counseling services in different languages to individuals, couples and families with the aim of promoting self-growth, balance, empowerment, quality of life, and well being. , I started my career as a linguist, professor and researcher. I have a Ph.D. in linguistics and I was a professor at FIU for several years. To fulfill my strong desire to help people outside the academic world, I decided to become a therapist. I believe every human being has the right to be happy and that psychotherapy can help people be joyful and happy. , " My practice is focused on the clients strengths and use effective techniques such as CBT, Trauma Focused CBT, MBSR, and Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MCBT) to help clients improve their lives and fulfill their goals.
