The expectation in the counseling relationship is for honesty with a commitment of growth, healing, and self-discovery. My approach to counseling is that of person-centered and goal-oriented. My focus is to help clients determine his or her level of need and their commitment to developing the coping skills needed to improve upon their issues. I currently am a mental health and D&A counselor. My credentials include Certified Advanced Alcohol and a Drug Counselor and Licensed Master Social Worker. , I have many years of experience working with adolescents, adults, and families and groups. I specialize in mental health therapy and treating addiction by utilizing various theory-based, empirical- based and evidence-based practices. A part of my practice is advocating a healthy balanced life that includes enhancing and empowering the whole person to make , positive changes in their lives. The use of goal-oriented, measurable, and accountable techniques provides this empowerment. The environment of the discussions (individual or group) provides a safe, non-judgmental setting with honest discussion and feedback to provide the best results profitable.
