My "ideal" client is an individual, couple or family who needs changes in their lives. Anyone with signs of distress, anxiety, anger issues or substance abuse may benefit from psychotherapy. Major life events which bring about change in a person\s life are reasons people seek therapy. You do not need to be married to see a marriage and family therapist. I treat anyone of any age or sexual orientation who is motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives. , As a marriage and family therapist, I work from a family systems model. Family members with symptoms serve some function for the whole family. Their pathology meets certain needs in the family as a whole. By treating the whole family, this cycle can be broken and all family members protected. , I have had a practice in Woodbury for over 30 years, serving Woodbury and surrounding areas. I am also an AAMFT approved supervisor and supervise other marriage and family therapists. I am a licensed substance abuse therapist in Connecticut and have acted as a consultant for local substance abuse programs.
