Hello- I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker, based in Dutchess County, NY, who works with individuals across their lifespan. My focus tends to be on those individuals who are struggling with feelings of self worth and internal motivation. I am particularly sensitive to those who are facing moments of transition, such as graduating from school or taking a new job, when one’s internal dialogue can become conflicted and symptoms of anxiety and self doubt can emerge. I believe we are all capable of hard work but at times need someone to remind us of that. , My approach is rooted in Dialectical Behavior Therapy, an evidenced based approach that allow clients to learn how to manage intense emotions in more productive ways. DBT also allows clients to learn real life coping skills for moments of distress as well as healthy communication skills. , My priority in starting with a new client is to build rapport, allowing clients to feel safe, heard, and as an equal partner in the therapeutic process. Additionally, I believe it is important for a therapist to be seen as a real person rather than an “expert” across the room.
