There are so many different reasons that parents seek support for their children, and choosing a therapist is a very personal decision: Experience, philosophy, a recommendation from a friend, all go into the decision. But, usually, its just a personal connection. In the end, finding the right therapist is about making a connection that feels good and that matches your families personality. I am a hands on, goal oriented person. I will help to identify the problem, and provide the support and help needed to empower you, as the parent, to help your child. , My specialty is working with children, teens and parents. I think that working with parents is as important as the therapy with the child and so I do a lot of parenting work, both individually and in small groups. I am a cognitive behavioral therapist so my treatment model is to be goal oriented and directive. , In addition, I also consult with schools and teachers to help children to succeed in the classroom. I run small parenting support groups as well as a mindfulness group for parents and often integrate mindfulness/mediation into therapy. Lastly, I offer SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) which teaches parents skills to help their kids
