Hello, my name is Suzanne Matson, I bring a diverse background and 20+ years of experience to my work as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I am dedicated to the use of client-centered, evidence-based models of counseling. My goal is to create a trusting and non-judgmental relationship through warmth and empathy, insight, curiosity, and creativity! We will identify together - the areas of growth and understanding that will allow you to accomplish your goals and bring about your desired growth and change. , Knowing, Being, Doing! These are the 3 areas that we look at to approach goal setting! Each of these areas impact and inform the quality and functioning of the others. If a client is feeling overwhelmed with anxiety, I will provide psychoeducational information in the KNOWING area to help them understand how their brain works creating the anxiety cycle. , " My goal is to provide my clients something meaningful and encouraging during their first session, in addition to conducting a thorough intake and background history. Every first session is unique to the clients needs, I always recommend writing down anything and everything on your heart and mind beforehand so that we can keep track of what we didnt get. "
