Almost 3 decades has been spent gaining a diverse background in Mental Health & Substance Use. A career that includes Crisis Intervention, Psychiatric Emergencies, Acute Psychiatry, Case Management, and Comprehensive Assessments including medication reviews. Darren has been part of many multi-disciplinary teams, and has actively served on numerous Community Committees and Commissions as well as been a court appointed Mediator for the City of Calgary. His experience includes clinical leadership, educating and mentoring, group work, and individual supportive psychotherapy. , " Darren is fascinated by the complexities of the brain and how people are affected from both their environment as well as their genetic composition. As a result, he has an understanding of how people develop their current defense mechanisms in order to function in their daily lives. Hes therefore able to help clients improve their positive coping strategies. ", Darren utilizes a compassionate and empathetic approach recognizing that every persons situation is unique. He understands there are many ways to overcome adversity and helps clients identify which solutions would work best for them.
