I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist with a specialty in psychoanalytic psychotherapy and I have more than 20 years of experience. I am currently in my 4th year at the Florida Psychoanalytic Institute studying to become a psychoanalyst. Many people who find themselves in repetitive unhealthy situations often with symptoms of depression or anxiety can benefit from either psychotherapy or medication and often the combination. I can treat those problems but the decision of how is a collaboration between the patient and the therapist. , The fit between the therapist and patient is very important for the treatment to be successful so sometimes it takes a few visits for both patient and therapist to understand enough of the problem to decide if they want to work together.
