About Us
My practice centers on working with those having addiction issues and those having addiction issues coupled to other mental health challenges such as: Bipolar & Depressive Disorders, Schizoaffective Disorder, Trauma, Grief & Abandonment. My extensive experience in all modalities of treatment allows clients a greater degree of options when creating a recovery plan for their addiction/mental health issues. 15 out of my 30+ years in the field were working inpatient psych/addiction as a member of an interdisciplinary team. , I utilize various modalities and styles in my practice. The main technique is person-centered and cognitive behavioral based. As we work collaboratively treatment will be tailored to an individual\s need(s). Dual Diagnosis is the expectation in addiction therefore I structure a \wrap-around\ approach and look at a person\s "Whole Picture." , " Unique to my practice is the fact that I had a previous life as a Comedian and Comedy Writer. My Masters Thesis was on the Efficacy of Humor as a Component within Therapeutic Relationships. The appropriate use of Humor is often incorporated into sessions with clients. "
