Over 30 years of experience has taught me a lot about how to best help the people I see. In my work, I try to listen, with empathy and respect, and to understand what has happened that has brought someone to my office. Clients often find that being able to talk freely in a safe, confidential relationship gives them relief and helps them to develop a clearer sense of the challenges they are facing. Together, the client and I identify the important stressors and conflicts and work on developing strengths and strategies to help cope better. , I see adults, adolescents and couples. I work with challenges associated with life changes, including marriage, parenting, divorce and loss, and I have experience with a wide range of diagnoses. I focus on listening to the person in front of me, and I integrate tools from cognitive-behavioral, interpersonal, and somatic therapies. , In addition to the above, I have specialty training in the treatment of anxiety, depression, eating disorders and trauma. With these issues, I combine somatic, body-oriented techniques with more traditional talk therapy. Working collaboratively, my clients and I find the best way to approach their particular situation.
