To be seen and to be heard, as well as to hear one\s own voice, is essential to human health and well-being. No one is exempt - life can be perilous at times. In addition to the lovely moments, there can be the uncertainty of the next one. Or the one we are in that seems unsolvable. No wonder at times we can feel starkly "alone" with the struggle. A safe place to begin sorting out thoughts and feelings in the company of a reflective listener creates space to see and understand in new ways. A new perspective creates new options in moving forward , I respect the courage of a person who seeks out a professional - a stranger - to share the most vulnerable feelings any of us can have. A wide range of emotions may be bared in doing so - fear, shame, anger, guilt, sadness, and more. I am particularly appreciative of this vulnerability and am skilled in the neuroscience of supporting emotional regulation. , My office offers an oasis away from the challenging world we live in.
