" Anthony J Piro Jr, LICSW. I am a clinician who uses an eclectic approach to help clients both manage their current day concerns and to learn about the drivers of their behavior to enable recovery. My primary practice areas are affective (mood) and anxiety disorders as well as the management of stress, anger and other strong feelings in the context of relationships both personal and professional. I use a client centered approach to goal setting, focusing on working on the areas of greatest concern to my clients. I generally start with the goal(s) that are most pressing for the clients current day struggles. ", I am an open and approachable clinician and value direct and honest communication. My hope is to make sessions as much of a "conversation" as possible, allowing both for a more relaxed and comfortable exchange. Working with me would feel much like have a discussion with a trusted advisor from whom you feel a genuine sense of concern and warmth. , The first session is a "getting to know you" opportunity in which I hope to get a good sense of what the issues are that need attention and to formulate an understanding of the ways in which the client understands their own difficulties. It offers the client to get a good sense of my style and approach.
