About Us

You have taken a very courageous step in seeking therapy. I have counseled children, families, and individuals at all stages of life. Over the course of my career, I have worked in urban, rural, and suburban communities, under government-funded grants, and through private funding in homes, schools, and residential treatment. Using an integrative approach that is trauma-informed, evidence-based, and family systems oriented, I draw from attachment theory, neurobiology research, systems theory, cognitive-behavioral theory, and existentialism. I also am an approved clinical supervisor in Maryland. , I am a nationally recognized expert and published author on play therapy, family therapy, ethical practice, trauma informed care for children, LGBT and gender identity, grief and loss, and spirituality. The therapeutic relationship is unique in that it is a highly personal and at the same time, a contractual agreement. , It is my intention to establish a therapeutic relationship for all ages that is steeped in my own congruence, empathy, and unconditional positive regard for all clients. I strive to be warm, compassionate, supportive, but firm, and nonjudgmental. I only accept clients whom I believe I can help using my professional knowledge and training.
