About Us

I have been a psychotherapist in Westport for the past 25 years seeing adults, couples, children and adolescents and families. In all cases, I think generally in terms of family dynamics. Welcoming and nonjudgemental fundamentally define my attitude. The adolescents I see often come with social or home complaints, or obsessed with online activities, eating disorders, or other self injurious behaviors. My work with them frequently focuses on identity issues, including explorations of relationship choices and career direction, gender and/or sexual orientation questions, and divorce or blended family dilemmas. , Many children I see are anxious. Helping them involves play therapy, skill building, personalized parent guidance and family work. The adults who come for individual therapy generally describe varying degrees of anxiety or depression, and are dealing with emotional stressors including relationship or job difficulties, unemployment, chronic illness or grief. , Couples I see range from new partners, to long term marriages, to those already divorced. The families I see face a wide range of issues, often made worse by the effects of divorce. In all cases, I focus on increasing personal reflection, strengthening coping strategies and teaching effective communication techniques.
