" Im Leah, a LCSW in the state of Connecticut and a LMSW in the state of New York. I understand how daunting it can be to enter counseling for the first time and want to set you at ease from our first meeting. I am all about meeting clients where they are and tend to allow conversation to flow organically. I often incorporate humor into sessions and believe in the power of connection, empathy, understanding and trust as essential elements to a therapeutic relationship. I strongly believe that my role as a therapist is to help my clients become empowered to bring about the meaningful change they are seeking in their own lives. I primarily utilize strategies of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), as well as integrating aspects of emotionally focussed (EFT), and exposure therapy. ", I have experience working with individuals, adolescents and families in various capacities of the mental health field including in schools and trauma focussed settings. I specialize in treating issues around spirituality, anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship issues including family and parenting challenges, and significant life transitions.
