I am always amazed and honored by the wide variety of individuals that enter my office. My strengths are working with adolescents, adults, and couples with all kinds of issues and concerns. I have a long history of working with men covering a wide array of concerns. An important focus of my work over the past 40 years has been work with intimate partners and couples in which one or both are survivors of trauma/abuse. , Sadly, the intimate partners and the couples in which one or both partners were abused/traumatized are largely ignored. I started an ongoing support/therapy group for the Partners of Complex Trauma Survivors in 1985. I have helped hundreds of partners and couples and trained other therapists to cope with and overcome the negative impacts of trauma/abuse. , Merchant seaman-age 16, started a teen program in San Quentin-17, in-patient psychiatry, Marin General Hospital at age 19, visited 25 countries, adolescent in-patient McAuley Neuropsychiatric-11 years starting at 22, Ph.D., with honors, UC, Berkeley 1984. These experiences enable me to appreciate and meaningfully connect with a wide variety of concerns.
