" Hello ! So, here we are ……..welcome ! We all have what I call “holes in the soul”: hurts, regrets, anger, grief & loss, unmet needs that occur or have resurfaced. If we go too much in the past, we are depressed; if too much in the future, we are anxious. Improving the quality of our lives is not just in ‘surviving’, but in working to move beyond it to LIVE, with better coping skills & relatedness, more awareness, yet balanced and at peace. Its SO about nurturance, trust, & connection ! ", " “….but I’ve dealt with this before - why again ?” you ask. Learning to cope better “in the present“ is still affected by our past. Both internal changes and external events are factors, because with growth and even good change, there is stress. Under more stress, we often return to “survival” skills (even unhealthy) that weve used, which no longer work.
