About Us

My name is Dr. Joshua Dickter. I specialize in working with children and young adults, and have experience treating individuals managing a variety of symptoms. Some of these symptoms include depression, anxiety, executive functioning challenges, giftedness or (oftentimes) a combination of all of these traits and more. I strongly believe that child distress quickly becomes family distress; therefore, I advocate for a mixed treatment approach involving individual work with the child, family work between parents and the child, and parent coaching sessions or consultations if the parents are comfortable with it. , " Kids do well if they can. Behavioral challenges are not a motivational issue, but a skill deficit. No child wakes up wanting to be sad or get into trouble. Their issue isnt that they dont want it enough; its that they are missing a tool to achieve success. My job is therefore to find that missing piece and build it through cognitive behavioral therapy.
