" As first generation to Indian parents, I saw my parents struggle with cultural differences. They were raised with similar upbringings; however, their beliefs about relationships were starkly different. I never witnessed them talking about their struggles, but rather, they seemed to view their relationship as what was to be expected. Witnessing this relationship dynamic taught me the importance of bringing differences to the forefront. We get so many messages about who we are supposed to be from family, friends, and society. Relationships bring two people with multi-faceted identities together, therefore, its only natural for relationship issues to arise. ", I help my clients understand why they are operating within relationships in certain ways, while also guiding them to explore different options for different possible outcomes. I work with individuals, couples, and families from all cultures, sexual-orientations, and relationship dynamics whom have experienced trauma, relationship and sexual issues. , " I enjoy being a Marriage and Family Therapist because it examines the influences throughout a persons life that have made them who they are.
