Using dynamic family systems, I begin to review a patients family of origin story about how life has been lived. I introduce an idea of looking at lifes picture like it is a tapestry. A tapestry is constructed of many colored threads laid down next to each other to blend into a picture. Sometimes a person does not have a completed tapestry picture of life. ", An incomplete tapestry picture (unresolved conflicts within self and relationships) can cause feelings of guilt and anxiety. When these feelings cause unmanageable pain I can coach patients to reweave their own life tapestry through self and relationship changes. What a life reward through therapy: your own masterpiece. , In 2002 I began psychoanalytic training with Newport Psychoanalytic Institute. I completed the doctoral program earning a PsyD. As a full active member of Newport and the New Center for Psychoanalysis I am also involved with other interested analysts to better understand how creativity and art might enhance analytic understanding.
