When I first meet new clients and we talk about what’s bringing them into counselling, they share issues of worry, avoidance, frustration, people pleasing, difficulties with motivation, feeling stuck, or challenges in their relationships. It can be confusing to know how to deal with these things and people can be skeptical about being able to make change. In fact, my clients are usually quite skeptical about counselling when they come to their first session. I know we are able to move through challenging emotions, shift unhelpful reactions and change relationship patterns to find joy, resilience, and authentic living. , I work from a trauma and attachment informed approach. We want to explore your past to learn about the patterns, behaviours, and beliefs that may be barriers to your growth in the present. I help clients learn to sit with difficult emotions differently and respond to challenges the way they want to.
