When I think about the work that I do with folks, I see clients who are on the precipice of a breakthrough. Transitions, heavy adjustments, longing, desire for change are a few issues that come to mind. They are often grappling with matters of identity which typically clash with another part of themselves they discovered or perhaps buried. They are attempting to reconcile what has happened to them. Usually, they have been on this search for some time and need a space in which they can learn, unlearn, and relearn. Other times, it is a space to acknowledge and name the pain. They want freedom to express themselves authentically. , I use an empathetic approach to meet you where you are at. I borrow from many different theories making my style eclectic. These theories include strengths-based, psychosomatic, narrative, mindfulness, and the use of self. I believe in collectivism and holistic wellness. I am also passionate about unpacking oppressive systems to make sense of your world. , In your sessions, I gently invite you to bring your whole sense of self – I encourage your authenticity and honor your journey. I would like to think of therapy as exploration in which you are the explorer and I am the co-explorer, whereby I offer recommendations and encouragements for where you would like to go to find deep meaning.
