I think everyone should have a therapist. I realize how self-serving that sounds, but if we see a medical doctor on a regular basis (yes, you should do that too!) for our physical health, why wouldn’t we have someone in our pocket for mental health as well? If there is a stigma around mental health, there is stigma of having a therapist as well. I regularly meet with people that have never accessed a mental health professional and after one session you can see the anxiety leave them as I help take away those social pressures and instead focus on you, that’s what I want, to be team YOU! , I work with most age groups, but am known professionally for my ability to connect with teens. Teens and parents often don’t see things the same way and my job is to bridge communication. I work in many areas of mental health, but specifically in the areas of managing life’s stresses, anxiety/depression, anger, grief & loss, as well as addictions. , " I just want to help in the ways I know work. I understand anxiety and mental health and wont judge anything you say, I want to be that safe person for you. I often joke in first sessions that if I’m not the professional for you, that’s okay! However, I likely know more therapists than you, so let me help you find what and who will work for you. "
